  1. This site is clearly for the roller coaster enthusiast. It has almost everything you would need to know about the best and the worst coasters in the nation.A very convienent feature of the blog is the list of Coaster reviews. It rates the Coasters on a scale of 1-10 and giving you a heads up on what to wait in line for and what to pass on. THe site however isnt only for THose fammiliar with Rollercoasters. IF you click on the link Coasterology you will find out about the diffrent types of coasters, their names and characteristics of each. So whether your a diehard Coaster fanatic or just someone wanting to learn more about roller coasters this site is definitley useful.

  2. There was one article about a new roller coaster called “Cheetah Hunt”. In the article, the author posted a video of what the new roller coaster will look like and the theme of it. The new roller coaster takes the rider through the Serengeti. I thought that this was interesting that the amusement park is trying to depict stereotypical Africa and simulate the hunt of a cheetah in the wild. I like how the amusement park is making the scenery part of the ride as you go flying past at 60mph. Other articles that talk about new or upcoming roller coasters made me realize that the ride itself can represent a place.

  3. this website is trying to introduces the most exciting theme park in the world. the theme of the theme park is usually happy and excited, so does this blog, i saw the video of"Green Lantern Coaster & The Coaster Crown Are Coming to Magic Mountain". the video uses the virture reality techonoloty, which is very nice,it makes me really want to have a try on this coaster. the green latern coaster is different from other coaster not only because it is huge and erect, but also it is my first time to see a coaster which not focus on the visitor on the fixed orbit, but let the people on the outside part of the orbit and whirl.there are also a lot intersting coaster and theme park on the website. if you are the person who really interested on the coaster, this is definitily a good website for you..

  4. I am disapointed that I was unable to find any acknowledgement of roller coaster tragedies on this blog. I suppose that wouldn't exactly coincide with the bright, almost obnoxious about roller coasters tone set by this site, but it would have definitely caught my attention and kept me more intrigued to read its posts. But, this site does have me convinced that there are people who actually care and like to read about rollercoasters, seeing that the site still exists and is frequently updated. I'm pretty surprised by that.

  5. I read an article that focused on comparing Cedar Point's Top Thrill Dragster and Six Flag's Kingda Ka. It was quite interesting to learn that Top Thrill is not the only of its kind any longer and also to hear the reviews of these two mammoth coasters. Not only did the author focus on the intensity of the rides themselves but also mentioned the views from the top. The author debated which scene was better: Six Flag's view of New York City or Cedar Point's glimpse of Canada as well as Lake Erie. One of the main points was that despite the fact that these coasters last only about 30 seconds, riders are still able to see the location they are in. It shows the impact place has even in the slightest scenario.

  6. I agree with Kyle, the fact that some of these roller coasters are not only amusing thrill rides, but also depictions of various places is an interesting connection between this blog and the theme of the course. The blog is tremendously useful in looking up information on anything that has to do with roller coasters and it can also be helpful in attracting people to different places for travel. Advertisements throughout the site not only depict roller coasters, but they mostly advertise other Places one could go in order to find a cool roller coaster, or even just for a simple vacation. From the videos, to the ratings, to the comments, this blog is very helpful and interesting to explore through the various ways it provides information on roller coasters.

  7. I also thought that this was a very interesting site. I'm not the most enthusiastic person when it comes to riding roller coasters because I get nauseous, but I still enjoy them. I thought it was really cool to read reviews on roller coasters I've already been on, just to hear what his thoughts were, on them, as well. I was surprised though, to not find anything on Cedar Point. From what I hear, that theme park is the best so I would have liked to find something on that theme park. Overall, this was an interesting website that opened my eyes to rollercoasers all around the world.

  8. Like Kyle and Sayna, it's interesting to see the decorative side to some of the coasters and how they represent places. Most coasters have a theme, at least in a lot of parks, but they aren't often obvious. (An example from the blog was a comparison of some new coaster and the Millenium, stating the new one has a theme but the Millenium doesn't have an obvious one.) I looked at the post about the Cheetah/Africa themed coaster. From personal experience, I've noticed that a lot of coasters and rides in the big Florida parks are very theatrical and place a lot of emphasis on the aesthetics versus just plopping a huge metal machine down. Every ride at Busch Gardens has some sort of set to make it look cool or like a certain region. Disney coasters are pretty self-explanatory. Universal has a few coasters that each have some sort of elaborate staging to get to it. (The line for Dueling Dragons is in a massive castle, the one for The Hulk is in Bruce Banner's lab.)

  9. This blog really hurts my feelings because my freshman year of high school, the amusement park in Houston, Texas was shut down for good. It hurt my feelings because I got season passes every summer and always went. On a serious note, my interest in this blog came from the "Top Coasters" tab. It is interesting to see many different roller coasters in the different cities. If you did take a look into these coasters, do you think there is a better number one ride than the one listed? I feel I have experienced much better coasters in Houston's amusement park. They probably did not last as long as the best coaster rated, but they were very fun.

  10. I enjoyed the top costers tab. It was interesting to see what were considered the top rollercoasters in the US. Also, I found it funny that, in that list, no Cedar Point coasters were listed. I used to go to Cedar Point all of the time when I was in High School, and I have been on every ride there multiple times. I enjoy them very much, but if they cant even make the top ten, I am interested to ride some of these other rides.

  11. One of the first blogs that caught my eye was the one about Hersheypark. It naturally caught my eye because I am only about 20 minutes away from Hersheypark and I have been there multiple times. I am excited to hear that they are planning on making a new roller-coaster but the question that comes to mind for me is, where are they going to put it? From what I remember, there was not a lot of space there the last time and they had to squeeze Fahrenheit into a tight location so I'm curious to find out where they are going to put this new ride. I also like how they went about telling people there was a new coaster coming. It creates for more anticipation and suspense.

  12. This blog was interesting to go through. I felt like the coasters, especially the top rated and most popular ones, could definitely help define the city or place that they are at, relating it back to the course theme. Having a well known amusement park would definitely stimulate a local economy and could be a huge part of a town. The site itself was interesting to read through because I was unaware of the websites and blogs available to coaster connoisseurs. I did not realize that people were so dedicated to reviews and ratings of roller coasters, but I was thoroughly impressed with their dedication.

  13. This website is clearly for those who are in love with roller coasters. I guess this represents place because maybe some cities are known for there amusement parks. The site seemed a bit crowded. It is information everywhere to click on. Overall it was an okay site.

  14. This site is full of information. Giving the visitor all the necessities to know everything about roller-coasters even giving the definitions to all the coaster jargon. The way this site portrays its information is also varied, giving videos, pictures, and written reviews. The site could be organized a bit better. When you first look at the home page its a bit overwhelming how much information is in front of you. This site can be seen as a representation of specific theme parks and in turn can influence ones opinion on a certain park.

  15. I think this blog is very well constructed. Joel Bullock is very knowledgeable on roller coasters, and theme parks in general. Just like how Leah and Kenny had said they lived near theme parks, I live right by King's Island. I enjoy going to ride the amazing roller coasters the park has to offer, and I like how Bullock really gives a great perspective on different roller coasters all across the country. Just like Henry said how the website gives definitions to coaster jargon, I think that is something worth pointing our. Bullock really makes his blog accessible. Having the "Coasterology" section really sets his blog apart. Another thing that has been mentioned is the posts is the importance of theme for a roller coaster. One of the criteria the coaster critic has for rides is how they translate a theme in the experience. This is an important part of ride enjoyment, and it really makes the roller coaster feel like an adventure rather than a another ride.

  16. I really liked this blog but I also found it very disappointing as well. Just like a few people mentioned about going to theme parks regularly, I went to Cedar Point every summer for the past 12 years with my entire family and I've rode everything there several times. I found a lot of the roller coasters to be some of the best I've ever rode and I have been to a number of theme parks. It was just disappointing to see not much of anything posted about Cedar Point because it is considered to be the roller coast capital of the world. However, I thought the blog was a great choice because it represented the course theme really well as it talked about theme parks from all over the United States and even from other countries.

  17. Being a fan of roller coasters, yet quite not an enthusiast I found this sight interesting. It would not be a site I would rush to daily to check all of the happenings in the world of roller coasters but a visit every once in a while would suffice. What really blew me away was the videos including in most of the blogs of what it would be like to be a passenger in one of these rides. Even though it was only a video, combined with my past experiences of roller coasters I could actually almost feel as if I was on the ride.

  18. This is a very interesting blog which is totally about the roller coaster. I used to go the cedar point, and it was really a very fancsinating experience. I almost rided all the roller coasters in one day. How crazy! I like the feeling when I was sudddenly fell with the coaster. I felt no restrictions around my body. And I felt like I was flying. In mu opinion, riding roller coasters is a kind of relaxation, a kind of venture. From it, you can get really excited, and your hormone will go crazy. After the excitement, maybe you will feel a litte tired, and at night, you will enjoy a very beautiful dream. Besides, on the blog, there are many videos shooting from the first person's view, and that really let feel I was on the roller coaster and even scream out.
